Text: 1 Chronicles 29: 11-13.
” 11 Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all. 12 Both riches and honor come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. 13 Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.“
An exceeding Glory is a glory that has no end. Ps. 100:4 admonishes us to enter into His Gates with Thanksgiving. Glory is the opposite of shame. Shame is when a person is perceived as someone that does not add value to anyone. Ps. 44:13 – Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbors, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us. There is a glory of a victory.
In every battle, there are usually two things that can happen, you either win or lose. It is possible to win and not be wounded, there is also a higher dimension, where you win without even engaging in a fight because The Lord is on your side. Judges 7:13-15.
In life, we walk by common sense, we run by discipline and we fly by instructions. The Book of Proverbs admonishes us to hearken instructions. Gideon heeded to the instructions of God and victory came his way despite having a small army.
There is the glory of deliverance. There is no pride in being in bondage. In John 4, we see how a Samaritan Woman obtained deliverance by her encounter with The Lord.
There is the glory of increase. In John 6:8-13, we see Jesus giving thanks and there was multiplication of what seemed insufficient – 5 loaves and 2 fishes.
There is a glory which is called the Glory of Transfiguration. This is what is also called an Exceeding Glory. In Luke 9:28-36, we see a Glory that is so exceeding that it came with an overshadowing cloud over The Lord Jesus. This Glory Transfigures. This is a Glory that has cloud that is overshadowing. It is a glory that cannot be overlooked. This type of glory speaks in your favor even where you do not have a voice. This is a glory that never diminishes. Rev. 21:23 – And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
How Do I Sustain This Exceeding Glory? When we give thanks and praises continually to God, He will make our glory to be sustained. Prov. 8:18-21. When you give thanks, The Lord makes you blessing to be secured, uncommon and permanent – Ps. 16:6.
What happens if I do not lay it to heart to Give Thanks? Malachi 2 says, if we take God’s blessings for granted, we are indirectly inviting a curse from The Lord.
If you have lost anything at all, God is the reason you have not lost all. It is possible to lose a battle and God makes you win a War.
God Bless You!
