Text: John 11:38-42.
“38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. 39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. 40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? 41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. 42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.” KJV.
There is power in Thanksgiving, there is healing, triumph and all manners of God’s blessing in thanksgiving. All through the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ, we see thanksgiving as a weapon He used in unlocking great doors, performing marvelous miracles, including the raising of the dead. Thanksgiving turns disappointments into glory and victory. Regardless of your status or condition, thanksgiving will cause a restoration.
God said in Isaiah 61, that He will give double for your trouble. Thanksgiving multiplies the anointing upon your life. Thanksgiving causes a shift in the realm of the spirit in your favor. Thanksgiving provokes angelic intervention. In everything, God commands us to give thanks, for this is His will for us in Christ Jesus. Thanksgiving is a magnet that pulls Heaven towards you. Thanksgiving also triggers victory even in the face of impossible situations.
The Wonders that Abide in Thanksgiving
- Thanksgiving unlocks the supernatural power of God. Jesus used it to raise Lazarus from the dead
- Thanksgiving activates covenant made in the blood of Jesus to intervene in your affairs. Matt. 26:26-28
- Thanksgiving will change the foundation and root of all your problems. Acts 16:25-26
- Thanksgiving will silence the mouth of the adversaries. The Lions’ mouths were shut before Daniel
- Thanksgiving will rewrite any negative decree written against your life. Isaiah 38:1-5
- Thanksgiving will turn your enemies into your helpers. 2 Chron. 20
- Thanksgiving will release the glory of God into all the situations around you. John 11:41-42
- Glory will displace shame
- Beauty will be given in the place of ashes
In closing, God dwells in the praises of His people. Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. Let them praise His name with the dance; Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp – Psalm 149:2-3.
