Your Best Worship.

Your Best Worship.

Ministering: Senior Pastor Shola Awobajo.

Text: Mark 12:38-44.

38 And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces, 39 And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts: 40 Which devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation. 41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. 42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. 43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: 44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

We have come today to Praise Him for His preservation of our Souls; to offer the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His Name. Heb. 13:15. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of The Holy Spirit Who is in you, Whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.1 Cor. 6:19-20.

We owe our being alive to Him, thus, we need to glorify and appreciate Him with our lifestyle. Every Service is a golden opportunity to thank The Lord for all He is doing in our lives.

In our above Text, The Lord was rebuking the hypocrisy of the Pharisees & Sadducees who long to be seen and recognized. God rejects hypocritical worship, He is very interested in everything we do in the Church, our Praising, dancing, giving, disposition of our hearts, etc. All these constitute worship to God. True Worship is beyond what is coming forth from our lips, but what is going on in our heart. The Widow in the above Text, dropped her all in all, and God saw it and acknowledged she had offered her best worship.

God expects our entire being to be consecrated unto Him. He purchased us, we are no longer our own. Our Worship is not to only make sound on the Earth but also in Heaven. The condition of your heart determines the quality of your worship.

Lessons from Mark 12:38-44:

  • God does not see the way man sees. He looks first from the inside rather from the outside like man.
  • God never judges like men judge.
  • God can use anything, no matter how insignificant it appears. He recognized the Widow’s 2 Mites.
  • God is more interested in our motives and attitudes more than anything else. He saw the motive of the Widow and praised her for it. 2 Cor. 9:7-8.
  • God expects you to give proportionally to what He has done for you. Luke 7:37-47.

God Bless You!
