1 Blessed be The Lord My Strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.NKJV

Refining is a process of purifying by God taking a person through different refining stages. To be refined is to be prepared for a greater purpose and responsibility which often comes through pruning and shaping while going through different life experiences. God will usually use your current situation to refine you to become a better person.

God trains our hands for war because life is full of battles. A Christian is a spiritual soldier who must be well equipped to walk in dominion. Just like Navy Seals go through rigorous training, even so we are called to a life of prayer as true disciples of Christ. We need to build the fire needed in our lives to rescue our dying world from the hands of Satan. Spiritual warfare is largely dependent on the quality of spiritual preparation and fortification.

To walk in dominion on this Earth will require toughness and spiritual training in high pressure situations. No one is exempted from challenges and trials in life; thus, wisdom demands adequate preparations for every level of warfare. Malachi 3:3 shows God’s process of bringing forth “gold” through our lives.

Joseph is a case study of someone who submitted to God’s refiner’s fire and God made a World changer of his life. God took Joseph through the furnace of the pit, furnace of slavery, and furnace of prison, yet he never took his eyes away from God.

  • The Furnace of the Pit – in the pit you cannot see anything good coming as it always bypasses you. In the pit you become a dumping ground for all sorts of nonsense. In a pit, destiny helpers will not be able to locate you. A pit limits your capacity. God specializes in delivering from the prison all who look to Him. Gen. 37:26-28, Isaiah 49:27-29.
  • The Furnace of Slavery – the slavery is another university training in the house of Potiphar. Lam. 1:3. Slavery is to be under an authority or system that your efforts are benefiting others, but you are suffering.
  • The Furnace of Prison – in the prison, you are stuck and no promotion. In prison you are consistent in your skill but no visibility. In prison, the fire is not burning you but building your character till you are conformed into the Image of Christ. In prison, you surrender completely to instructions and the fire purges and purifies you that will later produce glory. Gen. 39, Lam. 5:9.

Every affliction a child of God goes through is ordained to lead to their rising. God never abandons any of His own, even when we are going through the fire, He is right there to get us through it. We need the ability to adapt and grow stronger amid adversity; this only comes as you are fortified with fire. God counsels Joshua to be strong and very courage because there will be battles to be fought to enter the promise land. Joshua 1:5-7.

Everyone of us need fresh fire daily because Satan is never on vacation. To be “fireless” is to be chasing shadows in life. There is far more God still wants accomplished through your life but without “Fresh Fire” it would not be. Don’t settle for a mediocre life.

In closing, you have a destiny that cannot be compared with any other. Invest everything to fulfill it. Speed is a calamity if a person is travelling in the wrong direction. Never let your challenge make you write yourself off. Joseph never wrote himself off.

God Bless You, Richly!
