Text: Luke 10:1-3, 16-24.
“1 After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. 2 Then He said to them, the harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. 3 Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.16 He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.” 17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” 18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” 21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. 22 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.” 23 Then He turned to His disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see; 24 for I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard it.” NKJV
We were redeemed as God’s representatives on the Earth. Spirit beings are always looking for human representatives who will partner with them to execute their agenda on the Earth.
We represent God to the people. God has sent His Spirit into us so we can do what exactly Jesus would do in every situation as though Jesus were there physically present. God wants us to exercise dominion over Satan and destroy his works in the lives of men. We are God’s policemen to evict Satan anywhere he is operating because the Earth is the Lord’s and all that dwell in it.
Our principal calling is to represent Christ to people. The Holy Spirit is in us to continue what He began to through Jesus while He was on Earth. God hasn’t change in His mission on Earth just because Jesus left. The Spirit of God wants to continue to be to the world everything Jesus was and did to the World. We are His representatives to do what He would have done in any situation. We are His representatives to say what He would have continued to say if still physically on Earth.
Christ represents us in Heaven as our Head and we represent Him on Earth as His body. We are His disciples because we let Him use Our body to continue to do His works on the earth. He still wants to keep doing what He was doing in the four gospels.
As we do our part of being a “doer the word”, The Spirit of God manifests Jesus by doing the work. We are just privileged vessels of mercy for God to work through.
Christ’s 4 Main Works in New Testament
- What He did as man – manifesting God everywhere in miracles, signs, kingdom teachings, etc.
- What He did for man – dying as our substitute on the cross
- What He did in man – giving man a new heart (regeneration), to customize it to host God.
- What He is doing through man – reliving His life through His believers today.
In closing, We are here as “occupants troops” to oversee the enforcement of Christ’s defeat of Satan on Earth. Our mission is to enforce the victory of Jesus Christ in lives of men.
And He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. 2 Cor. 5:15
