Easter Sunday.
Text: John 11:25-26.
“25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believeth thou this?” KJV
Christ rose to give us eternal life. He rose to give us power over sin and death. He resurrected that He might give life to every dead virtue in our lives. The question always is “do you believe?” He can bring life back to your “dead” situation (marriage, career, etc.). Whatever is confronting you, the good news is, Christ already paid full price for your victory.
Easter is a celebration of “the Lord’s victory on our behalf”.
Our above text shows us that the Lord never comes late; He has power to overturn any verdict to joy. Romans 10, enjoins us to believe with our heart and confess with our mouth all that Christ has done for us. Shame, sickness and every work of darkness are no longer your portion because of what Christ accomplished on the Cross.
Things God will Restore in Your Life
- He will restore the wasted years in your life – Joel 2:25-26
- He will restore all your lost power, authority and virtue to you – prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32
- He will restore your lost joy – Ps. 51:12-17, Ps. 30:5
- He will restore every lost glory
- He will restore your lost hope – Romans 4:18
In closing, like the Prodigal Son came back to himself and thus returned to his father, likewise, we need to return to the Lord, the Great Restorer.
