July, 2026 | Healing of all Brokenness and Fixing of Foundations

Text: Psalm 147:1-5.
“1 Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful. 2 The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. 3 He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds. 4 He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. 5 Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.” NKJV
Case Study of Jabez (1 Chron. 4:9-10)
Jabez was a man of broken heart because he had a faulty foundation. The name “Jabez” is indicative of “sorrow” ; but rather than allow this to be his identity, he called on the God of Israel to bless him, enlarge his coast, keep him from evil and be with him – God answered all his prayers.
Every true transformation starts from within, not from the surface. No foundation is repaired from the surface, depth is the determinant of height in life. Deep calleth on the deep; God is a God of depth.
We were chosen to show forth the praises of Him Who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. If you are among the chosen, then whatever does not reflect His glory must be dealt with from its foundation.
Every lasting revival or genuine transformation must commence with repentance. 2 Chron. 7:14. Prayer is a medium to heal our root and foundation. Jabez prayed and God healed his foundation. Elijah first repaired the altar before calling on the God that answers by fire.
God fixing our foundation means God wants to repair the root system that supports our lives. The health of a tree is determined by its root system. It is the foundation that determines a building’s stability. Because of the unreliability of certain soils, builders usually dig deeper to fortify the foundation. There are faulty foundations, sinking foundations, cracking foundations, etc. Many destinies have been wrecked by faulty foundations (generational or family issues, etc.)
Indicators of Faulty Foundations
Firstly, repeated failures (usually at the edge of success). Secondly, recurring family battles – same sickness or evil pattern resurfacing over family members.
Restoration means God’s healing of our brokenness – He heals the broken in heart and binds their wounds. God’s knowledge and understanding is infinite; thus, God is a specialist in healing brokenness and fixing faulty foundations. Our members are written in His hand because He is our maker. Our walls are continually before Him because He is our redeemer.
In John 5:1-9 Jesus singled out an impotent man and healed him of his 38-year predicament. Luke 13:11-13, Jesus healed a woman who had been bent to the ground for 18 years (a daughter of Abraham) by setting her free from Satan’s oppression. Also, in Mark 10:47-49, Bartimeus called on the Lord for mercy and his sight was restored.
Sometimes pain is invisible, in 1 Sam. 1:13-19, Hanah poured her heart to God and God blessed her with a great prophet – Samuel. May God turn your pains into testimonies.
Some people’s problem is not due to lack of opportunities, but their spiritual eyes have been blinded. Lord, please open my spiritual eyes so I can see Your calling for my life, and please help me to walk in the fullness of it.
